I was at a music store and i saw a Zildjian A Custom with a couple (3) of 1 cm cracks on the edge. Will this affect the sound of the cymbal?

Yes it will. You could get a sharp “zing” sound from the cracks. It could also make the tone of the cymbal very inconsistent.
Have you ever thrown two pot lids at each other? That is probably what it is going to sound like. The cracks will also get larger as you play.
