Yamaha drum kits are of good quality

I'm trying to buy my first drum, and everything that interests me are good tanks quality. Really nothing more. I was torn between the Yamaha kit and a set http://www.guitarcenter.com/Yamaha-Stage-Custom-Birch-Shell-Pack-with-24–Bass-Drum-774709-i1395968.gc pearls, maybe a Ludwig. but I heard Pearl is more like heavy metal / hardcore. IDK and Ludwig. HELP ME! D:
It really all depends on the shell, if good for a certain type of music. I own a Custom Stage equipment and sounds great and would be an exceptional kit first.
I play mostly rock and metal and I'm beginning to have a team like maple, but the kit is ideal for me. But this should be the game for you, the metal you are looking for, with a strong attack and short decay which is what provides the birch.
So in short, Yamaha big teams yes, very good for metal. My only complaint is that the heads that try to vacuum and I can not release the battery so I would, but I will.
