The effects of downsizing Bass Drums
?
I have a 22″ Mapex V series Bass drum but I wish to upgrade my kit overall and I was wanting to get a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage kit with a 20″ Bass drum. I tend to play
Metal/Rock/HipHop, and I use a Double Bass Pedal.
I’m Wondering what this will sound like will it be a lower/Higher pitch and will it fit the genres I play.
Also the kit has 6 toms ranging from 8″ thru to 16″.
I’m mainly asking because I remember when I was less musicly tone trained and it sounded weird from my normal 22″
a smaller bass drum…. whats the problem
