Drum Head Advice?
I have decided on a $750 dollar Gretsch Catalina Maple shell kit with Zidjan Planet Z Hi-Hat, Crash, and Ride cymbals (It’s my first set so I’m starting cheap.
Over time I’ll slowly upgrade). The only thing left to decide on is drums.
I think I want to go with Remo Pinstripes for the toms and a Remo Powerstroke 3 batter head for the snare. I’m confused though, because I don’t know if I should be getting the same thing for the bottom (resonant) side.
Does anyone know what a great setup is for the top AND bottom? I don’t know enough about drums as far as the technical facts go to decide for myself what kind of heads to get.
I just know that Remo and Evans sound good so if anyone could tell me what your setup is for the top and bottom of each drum, I’d love to hear it.
