How Many Calories Will I Burn Playing Drums
?
For those of you that don’t drum let me explain you some things.
1. There are springs in the foot pedals that create resistance making it harder to push down
2. In some music genres I would be using two pedals and going fast so that’s like jogging, right?
3. The left foot has to be raised and stay raised in the air in most genres of music
4. A drummer’s arms stay up in the air and usually arn’t down by their sides
5. Depending on how high your cymbals are your arms have to work that much harder to hit them and work harder to be stayed raised during a crash cymbal beat
6. And of course Headbanging!
So through all of this how many calories would you think a drummer would burn in an hour of playing?
if your playing some heavy stuff (which it sounds like you are) id say somewhere from 250-300 in an hour.
